Perinatal and Parent-Infant Relationships Support Service

Perinatal and parent-infant relationship support in West Northamptonshire

On this page

Family Lives offers a perinatal and parent-infant relationship support service for new and expectant parents living in West Northamptonshire. We offer practical and emotional support for parents to reduce isolation, improve emotional wellbeing, and increase access to local services.

We will work closely in partnership with the West Northamptonshire Family Hubs, midwifery and other local teams. Whether a first child or new sibling, our perinatal service will work with parents during pregnancy and up to 24 months after birth.

How we will support new and expectant parents

Our team of locally recruited volunteer peer supporters will visit parents in the family home as well as making contact via phone or MS Teams. They will offer a listening ear to help ease the demands of parenthood and support the parents and family relationships. Our trained volunteers can provide support with:

  • Building your confidence and parenting capacity
  • Getting out and about and connecting with people and your local community
  • Bonding and improving relationships
  • Creating a nurturing home environment
  • And so much more …that matters to you

In addition to 1-1 support, we welcome mums, dads and carers to our Family Lives parenting groups, run regular peer support groups, and can provide information on other local services and resources.
